Browns Cut Ties With Running Back After Beating Colts

The Browns signed Jackson for Sunday's game against the Colts but waived him on Monday.

Jackson was promoted as insurance for Kareem Hunt, who was injured. However, he did not get a chance to carry the ball in the game against the Colts, his former team.

Jackson may rejoin Browns' practice squad if he clears waivers. He started Week 1 for the Colts and had 13 carries. Jackson only gained 14 yards.

Browns have an open roster spot for quarterback PJ Walker. The Browns backup quarterback will be signed to the active roster after using up his practice squad elevations.

Walker replaced Watson, leading the team to win against the Colts. He completed 47% of passes for 178 yards and threw an interception.

The Browns might wait to find another backup quarterback before choosing Walker.

Hunt's game-winning carry came after three failed pass attempts, with just over 15 seconds left.

He squeezed into the end zone. Hunt had 10 carries, 31 yards, and two touchdowns.
